Saint Margaret of Antioch, Hothfield

Church Lane,  Hothfield,  Ashford,  Kent  TN26 1EL

This Grade 1 listed church building dates from the 13th Century. Constructed from local ragstone, it was largely rebuilt following a fire in 1598. Inside the church, there are a number of fine stained glass windows and the 17th Century Tufton Tomb.

Hothfield Common is an important local amenity, a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the unusual flora and fauna and a favourite place for dog walkers.

The church has a very active Friends group who raise money through social events for the maintenance of the church fabric and for other needs that arise in the life of a church. This beautiful church provides a superb venue for concerts and has also, in recent years, held a popular Christmas Tree Festival that attracted entrants from a wide area. The annual Harvest supper, organized jointly by the Friends and the Village Hall Committee, is held in the Village Hall and attracts many people from the village as does the biennial village fete.
